Walter Martinez

Equipment Manager

Since 1988, Walter has been working in the heavy equipment construction industry. Beginning his career as a Field Tech for a local Caterpillar Dealer for 10 years, he decided to evolve and make a change in 1998 by joining the team at Lund Construction.

With safety, quality and continuous improvement key components of the Lund brand, Walter was brought on board to maintain the extensive Lund fleet, purchase new equipment, and oversee the N. Highlands repair facility. He ensures a clean, secure and friendly work environment, where fellow employees have the proper tools and equipment to achieve efficiency and safely perform their job. He has built fantastic relationships with vendors and dealers providing value and optimized performance for job sites. Using cutting edge technology training and a rigorous Preventative Maintenance Program, Walter minimizes equipment downtime, and ensures compliance with ARB, PERP, On-ROAD, and any state and federal regulations. In addition, Walter is responsible for dispatching Low Beds, Flat Beds, Fuel Trucks and service trucks.

In his free time, outside of work, Walter serves on the BRPA (Barton Road Pipeline Association) as a Board Member, and is a member of the AJC (Auburn Jeep Club), a non-profit organization to giving back to the community and keeping local off road trails maintained and open. He enjoys spending time with his family, raising cattle, exploring and camping in the outdoors with horses and Jeeps, and skiing in Tahoe.
